Phil started his career as a bench joinery apprentice, where he developed practical skills and a strong foundation in bespoke joinery through hands-on experience. His expertise and practical knowledge allow him to guide clients towards the most suitable solutions for their individual needs. As the driving force behind the company’s growth and success, Phil is committed to maintaining the highest standards in both craftsmanship and service.

Jennifer Roberts

Company Director

As Company Director, Jenny oversees the financial management and core business operations at Derwen Joinery. She plays a key role in driving the company’s growth and ensuring smooth, efficient processes across all departments.
Married to fellow director Phil, Jenny ensures quality and consistency remain at the heart of Derwen Joinery’s operations.

Oliver Pluves

Trainee Estimator / Project Manager

Oliver is developing his expertise in estimating and project management, working closely with the senior team to deliver accurate quotations and ensure the smooth running of joinery projects from concept to completion. With several years of hands-on experience on the shop floor, he brings a practical understanding of materials, processes and craftsmanship that adds real-world insight to his project planning.

This background gives Oliver a unique advantage when it comes to anticipating challenges, communicating with workshop teams and aligning client expectations with practical outcomes. 

Robert Williams

Senior Bench Joiner Wood Machinist

Rob brings over 35 years of experience in bench joinery and wood machining, combining traditional craftsmanship with an expert understanding of materials and technique. His depth of knowledge and hands-on expertise make him a key figure in the workshop, where his precision and attention to detail consistently uphold the highest standards of quality.

As our go-to expert for complex builds and bespoke solutions, Rob excels at translating detailed technical drawings into beautifully crafted pieces. His passion for the craft, steady hand and commitment to long-lasting results make him an invaluable part of the Joinery team.

Advanced Manufacturing 

Our CNC Team is central to our bespoke timber production. By combining advanced technology with expert craftsmanship they bring design concepts to life tailored to each client’s requirements.

The team includes a combination of long-standing professionals and newer members who contribute fresh ideas and enthusiasm. No matter their experience level all team members share a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a dedication to quality. Working collaboratively, they deliver consistently high standards our clients know and trust.
